Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated individual to work within Kingsmill Hospital theatres. The successful candidate will have responsibility for ensuring that the department has sufficient clinical and support staff to meet service demands.

You will work closely with the team leaders/clinical teams to ensure that all rotas within the department are produced in a timely and efficient manner utilising both existing and temporary staff in the most appropriate and cost effective way.

Person specification

Knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Computer literate with advanced keyboard skills
  • Good working knowledge of the NHS immediate priorities
  • Budget monitoring skills
  • Good leadership/communication skills skills
  • Significant administration and clerical experience
  • Experience in administration/HR function such as booking, rotas, leave planning or waiting list management.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of delivering and leading change to meet service need

Qualifications - Academic/professional

Essential criteria
  • RSA/OCR III typing/audio typing/word processing or equivalent.
  • Good general education including English/Maths GCSE grade C or above.
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ II Administration
  • ECDL qualification or equivalent qualifications and/or equivalent experience.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrated competence in word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation packages.
  • IT literate
  • Able to collate and analyse data, produce reports
  • Able to prioritise and work to deadlines.
  • Able to work under pressure with constant interruptions
  • Flexibility in dealing with issues as they arise.
