Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the EMAS Transformation Team as a project manager, as we continue our improvement and transformation journey. 

This role is to provide maternity cover for the existing Project Manager and so will tak on an existing suite of projects, ranging from capital development through to operational service improvement.

The Transformation Team is a central team in EMAS providing specialist change and transformation support across critical, complex and large scale change programmes.  You will be joining the team as they move into 2025/26 Transformation Programme which is set to an exciting and pivotal year for the Trust.

Main duties of the job

  • To deliver projects to time, budget and quality requirements via the application of agreed tools, techniques and expertise in line with the Trust Project & Programme Framework
  • To shape the delivery of the overarching programme by applying tools, techniques and expertise, aimed at achieving delivery of the agreed business outcomes, including:
    o    To develop robust links with key project and programme stakeholders
    o    To identify and manage key dependencies
    o    To develop and initialise appropriate project plans, project documentation including, risks and issues logs
  • Ensure lessons learned are shared with project, Trust governance boards and appropriate staff
  • To provide guidance and leadership to project resources as appropriate
  • Utilise, maintain and update appropriate digital repositories and/or utilise defined software packages for project/programme management
  • Define measurable benefits and ensure that these are realised during or post project
  • Assign tasks/actions to the project team and ensure they are completed on time
  • Define appropriate communication plans and stakeholder engagement
  • To participate on Trust wide project groups which propose service wide developments
  • Perform any duties as may be directed and appropriate to the post

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 4 x GCSE Grade C or equivalent
  • Project management qualification/training
Desirable criteria
  • Degree or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • 1 years project management experience
  • Project delivery experience with formal project methodology, e.g., PRINCE/Agile
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of using project/programme management software solutions.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of NHS organisations and information requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of business case processes

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Able to present highly complex technical issues to a non-technical audience via various media.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate, engage, influence and motivate teams.
