We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who would love to come and work in a dynamic team, who support local people to access employment opportunities in the NHS.
This Apprenticeship role, within the team who lead on Apprenticeships and pre-employment engagement, will provide opportunities to grow, develop and learn all about the NHS and to share that knowledge to inspire others.
You will have administrative duties and create content for internal and external communications about career opportunities and development through training opportunities.
You will be supported by a team who have an excellent track record in their previous Apprentices achieving distinctions in their qualification.
Main duties of the job
Support the administration of widening participation activity at NUH, including work experience and functional skills.
Support, develop and grow the communications activity of the Widening Participation team ensuring that our message, information and advice reach a wide audience, both internally to NUH and externally across Nottingham.
You will use Canva, Eventbrite, Microsoft Office 365 suite, in your work.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Administrative Duties
To provide general office and administration support service to the Widening Participation Team
To undertake general office duties, for example, answering the telephone, taking messages, filing, photocopying etc
To communicate with staff internal to the organisation and externally in partner organisations.
Assist the Widening Participation Team to arrange and administer meetings / conferences /events, including booking venues, and the preparation and distribution of papers.
Under supervision produce accurate letters, minutes, reports and maintain databases etc, as required.
Under supervision develop and maintain administrative support systems, including bring forward files and manual and electronic filing systems, ensuring that systems are effective in their use and are reviewed regularly.
Assist in the tasks and duties of other staff within the team during periods of staff leave/absence to ensure that an effective quality service is maintained at all times and contributing to the work of the team.
To record and securely store information relating to confidential matters and enquiries.
To undertake an annual appraisal to identify any necessary personal development required to meet the objectives of the Team, and to further develop the post holders’ skills and role.
The post holder will be required to undertake mandatory training as and when required.
Communication and Working Relationships
To communicate as appropriate with a range of internal and external stakeholders and partners.
To respond promptly and appropriately to enquiries and requests for information and advice made either in person, by correspondence or over the telephone.
Responsibilities of the Post Holder
To contribute to the administration, comms/marketing work within the Widening Participation Team.
To gain an understanding of how the team functions by providing support as required whilst gaining knowledge and experience and by undertaking training in the following.

Essential criteria
- GCSE English and Maths grade 4 and above, or equivalent Functional Skills Level 2 qualifications
Communication skills

Experience

- • Basic skills in Microsoft Office

- Interest in working in the field of Widening Participation
Physical Skills
Essential criteria
- • Uses VDU equipment for a substantial part of each day.
- • Frequent concentration required for data inputting and checking information under guidance.
