Locum Consultant Radiologist with a GI/HPB radiology interest

NHS Medical & Dental: Locum Consultant

Job overview

An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Clinical Radiology Consultant with an interest in Gastrointestinal (GI) and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) imaging to join the Radiology Department of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate would be joining a team of 9.5 full time equivalent GI / HPB radiologists at a University hospital as part of a wider 21-member body radiology group within a dynamic team of over 60 consultant radiologists.

The post would be a diagnostic role across both NUH campuses with close working relations with many clinical medical and surgical disciplines. We are a Major Trauma Centre, the first Radiology centre in the East Midlands Radiology Consortium and a Tertiary referral centre for HPB, GI and Oncology.

Main duties of the job

The post will have a commitment to support a range of services, including CT, MRI, plain radiograph reporting, ultrasound, multi-disciplinary team meetings and clinical-radiological meetings. There will be an on-call commitment depending on the skill set of the successful candidate.

Working for our organisation

We have an important contribution to make to life in Nottingham and the wider region and we take this responsibility seriously. With over 20,000 staff, we are one of the biggest and busiest NHS trusts in the country, serving more than 2.5m residents of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Our specialist services allows us to deliver care to 4.5m people from across the East Midlands and nationally for a handful of services. We play a leading role in research, education and innovation. We have a budget of just under £1 billion, 90 wards and 1,700 beds across three main sites: QMC, City Hospital and Ropewalk House.

We have a national and international reputation for many of our specialist services, including stroke, renal, neurosciences, cancer services and trauma. We play a vital role in the education and training of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
