This is an exciting role that sees the successful individual support in the coordination of the Elective Orthopaedics EMSON MDT meetings. The EMSON MDTs meeting runs on a weekly basis and includes discussions with tertiary centres.
This role requires the individual to build strong working relationships with clinical teams around the Trust as well as other administrative teams. There is lots of opportunity to network and bring innovation into the current working processes.
Main duties of the job
To carry out administrative duties in relation to the team meetings and ensuring appropriate records are maintained
To have a comprehensive knowledge of EMSON MDT meetings and priorities, ensuring that the relevant members of EMSON & Orthopaedic MDT’s are fully informed and involved
Be present for the EMSON Revision Hip and Knee Arthroplasty MDT, the Elective Orthopaedic microbiology MDT, the EMSON Shoulder and Elbow MDT and the EMSON Foot and Ankle MDT.
The post holder will be responsible for inputting and maintaining a robust data collection system to provide clinical outcomes information and to produce reports as required by members of the MDT.
Liaise with the EMSON MDT leads, mapping out requirements to enable forward planning of MDT meetings
Working under own initiative and organising the day to day tasks of the role, liaising closely with the Revision Arthroplasty Leads, members of the MDT, Clinicians, Directorate Managers and the Infectious Diseases Team.
To support the identified EMSON & MDT lead clinicians to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Managing the coordination of attendance of the EMSON & MDT meetings, creating and maintaining a live agenda for the team, ensuring timely communication of any changes alongside collating any clinical information and patient lists as required

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will be an integral part of the Trust’s achievements of National Revision Knee Network KPIs.
To co-ordinate with the other EMSON hospitals (United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust and Balborough ISTC) as well as any regional centre regarding local and tertiary referrals to the MDT.
Create and manage patient spreadsheet/database which establishes a record of advice given at the MDT and ensure that the MDT decision is communicated to the referring clinician in a timely manner.
Responsible for the tracking and retrieval of patient notes as necessary
Travel to other EMSON hospitals may occasionally be required in order to ensure accuracy of information supplied to NHS England.
To co-ordinate with other regional centres regarding local and tertiary referrals to the MDT.
To support the development, implementation and review of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for MDT work and processes
To develop excellent working relationships with all stakeholders, including EMSON & MDT leads
TRAINING
To provide training to new colleagues in the role, acting as a mentor throughout their induction period/cross cover.
To participate in relevant training and OD initiatives in collaboration with the EMSON MDT services
DATA MANAGEMENT AND AUDIT
To establish reporting mechanisms; producing and disseminating regular reports which capture activity between MDT’s and identifying any gaps/ areas for improvement, escalating as required
Develop and undertake audits in collaboration with the EMSON/MDT aligned clinicians and actively participate in service/quality improvement initiatives related to this role
Use information systems to update and extract data to populate reports as required
To establish and maintain systems for the management and storage of information adhering to Trust policies and procedures, particularly in relation to confidentiality, health and safety, equal opportunities and data protection.
