The unit provides specialist tertiary referral HPB services to a population of 2.5 million patients in Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire and East Staffordshire, as well as a local service for biliary surgery. The major surgical caseload included approximately 150 liver resections and 90 pancreatic resections per year and a continued increase in major cancer and benign resectional workload is anticipated. The unit has three MDT meetings per week and a departmental planning meeting weekly. We support major resectional work with other specialities including Gynaecology, Urology and Sarcoma.
