Hepatology is a faced paced and ever growing service that requires the support of a full time Deputy Service Manager. This post will not just involve line management of staff but service support and improvement. Hepatology has both Cancer and 18 week targets with multiple sub-specialites, all requiring support and input from a DSM. We need someone who can be flexible to move with the needs of the service and lead the team in a positive and enthusiastic way. The opportunities that lay ahead for Hepatology in terms of what our service can offer to our patients is what makes this DSM post so exciting for someone who is passionate about making a difference and improving access to healthcare to all.

Responsibilities will include staff line management, delivery of national access targets and project goals, management of trust waiting lists and development of staff and processes for current and future strategic directions of our services.

Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience at a management level which could include project management, change management, multidisciplinary working, human resource management, performance management
- Relevant practical experience in an administrative role
Desirable criteria
- Experience in Healthcare
- Experience of using healthcare IT systems
Communication
Essential criteria
- Ability to influence and motivate staff to deliver challenging targets
- Ability to present data and write reports
Analytical and Judgement

- Innovative thinker with the ability to cut through barriers to change
