Highly Specialised Physiotherapist: HCOP speciality across QMC and City
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, dynamic, multi-skilled and highly motivated physiotherapist to work in the HCOP Physiotherapy team across Queen’s and City campus. It is an excellent opportunity to bring new ideas to the already well established inpatient service.
This post will drive and provide excellent clinical care within the physiotherapy service for our HCOP patients across a diverse pathway and you will be supported by the Clinical Lead, Therapy Service Manager and fellow band 7 physiotherapy and occupational therapy colleagues within the team. The OT's and physios work collaboratively and increasingly generically in order to support decision making and holistic patient care. You will be exposed to a diverse range of clinical presentations including but not limited to geriatric conditions, many of which are very acute and complex, and as such you need to have a skill set that matches this, including full respiratory skills.
The successful candidate will be required to contribute to the education, training, and competency assessment of staff within the area and will have line manager responsibilities. Opportunities for personal development and learning new skills will be encouraged and this is an excellent opportunity to expand your leadership skill set.
Contribution to weekend rosters will be an expectation of the role and continued involvement in the on-call rota

Core responsibilities include, but not limited to;
provide senior decision making within HCOP physiotherapy team and provide a responsive service to optimise flow through the Trust.
Provide a supportive and learning environment for team members under your direct management. Including undertaking annual appraisals and contributing to the management of health and wellbeing.
Contribute to the education and teaching of students, preceptees and support workers.
participate in the physiotherapy respiratory weekend service
Ensure that high quality, evidenced based practice, service development and education underpin the service delivery.
Lead by example that trust values and behaviours are embedded in everyday practice

This post will allow a physiotherapist with a keen interest in inpatient care to expand both their clinical skill and leadership of a busy and responsive service, with a focus on patient flow whilst ensuring excellent patient care isn’t compromised.

Experience

- • Significant post graduate experience, including a wide variety of rotations and experiences at Band 6 in relevant specialty.
- • Experience of management of performance and sickness of staff and participation in recruitment of new staff to maximize workforce potential
- • Experience in evaluation of evidence based practice, audit, service development and benchmarking
Communication & Relationships

- • Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills including explaining, negotiating, motivating and training
- • Participation and leading /organising in-service training programmes
- • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with the multidisciplinary team, patients and carers
- • Able to communication complex condition related information to patients, relatives/carers and other clinical/social care staff where there may be barriers to understanding e.g. language barriers, speech, cognitive problems
- • Demonstrate leadership ability.
Analytical & Judgement Skills

- • Ability to prepare annual review of specialty service

- • Able to travel to required areas within and beyond the Trust. This post includes outreach work so must be a car owner
