Job overview

This is a 12m fixed term contract for 37.5 hours per week working 5 days per week  - Monday - Friday between the hours of 8am - 5pm.  Due to ever increasing demands on our service there will be a need for weekend working in the near future.

Ideally the successful candidate will have previous experience of working within an outpatient environment.

Main duties of the job

The role includes working closely with a multi disciplinary team to ensure patients appointments are booked in line with the previous clinical review.  The main elements to the role are;

Booking appointments

Clinic management

Dealing with appointment queries over the telephone

Working as part of a team

Liaising with clinicians to ensure patients appointments are booked in line with their needs

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • To be educated to GCSE level or equivalent standard including Maths and English
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge and understanding of hospital IT systems

Communication and relationship skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with staff at all levels
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with staff and the public at all levels.
