Band 6

Job overview

Are you an experienced Paediatric Critical Care Nurse seeking a new challenge? There is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated nurse to join our Paediatric Critical Care management team and our Children's Emergency Transport Service (CoMET) to cover maternity leave.

Our Paediatric Critical Care Unit based in Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, has 14 beds comprising 8 Paediatric Intensive Care beds and 6 Paediatric High Dependency beds. We care for children under a wide range of specialities.

CoMET is the supra-regional Paediatric Critical Care Transport Service hosted by The University Hospitals of Leicester, in partnership with Nottingham University Hospital which launched in March 2017. CoMET is responsible for covering the East Midlands, providing advice and support for our 11 referring centres. The team operates a 24 hour acute transport service 7 days a week and a repatriation service in daytime hours to help create patient flow in our critical care beds within the region.

CoMET is based on a single site in Castle Donnington alongside our neonatal, adult and ECMO transport colleagues.

Applications are currently invited for nurses looking to join the Nottingham based part of this service, with successful applicants having the opportunity to work in both the PCCU in Nottingham and CoMET.
