This role is a key member of the Bowel Cancer Screening department and specifically the Quality and Operational sections, assisting in the delivery of a quality-driven, cost-effective, patient focussed service consistent with the objectives of the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme and Nottingham University Hospitals Trust.
The role involves:
- Assisting the Quality team with providing comprehensive co-ordination and organisation of quality related duties such as in house audit activities, in conjunction with UKAS ISO15189:2022 and Screening Quality Assurance Service (SQAS) standards.
- Supporting the Assistant Operational Manager by carrying out operational duties whilst effectively checking and testing departmental processes.
The post is based at the Queens Medical Centre campus.

As a Quality & Operational Coordinator, the post holder will be a member of the departmental team and assist in the delivery of a quality driven, cost effective, patient focused service consistent with the Nottingham
University Hospitals Trust’s objectives.
The post holders’ main role is to support the Quality and Operational teams to ensure the highest standards are maintained through all processes of the department.

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to Higher Diploma level or equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience.
- GCSE English and Maths C or above
- Evidence of continuous learning and development in related area
- • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Desirable criteria
- A-level Qualification in Maths or equivalent
- A-level Qualification in English or equivalent
- Knowledge of the National Bowel Cancer Screening Computer System
- Knowledge and experience of Q-Pulse
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of undertaking audits
- Experience of working with document control procedures and SOP production/maintenance
- Experience of quality control systems and implementation of associated policies
- Experience of change management and ability to demonstrate implementing changes to own work area.
- Experience of dealing with non-conformities (as applied to quality control processes)
- Experience of working with confidential, sensitive and contentious information
Desirable criteria
- Experience working in Cancer Screening programmes
- Experience of performing root cause analyses and trend analyses data
- Previous involvement in UKAS and or QA inspections

- Able to communicate confidently and effectively with clarity and precision with all levels of staff
- Able to present a professional image when communicating via the telephone, in writing and in person.
