Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Technical Officer to join the Pharmacy Sterile Production Unit Team based at the Queens Medical Centre at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH). You will be joining a team of hardworking and dedicated professionals who formulate, prepare and manufacture medicines for our most vulnerable patients and external customers.

Main duties of the job

In addition to the summary below you should familiarise yourself with the full job description and person specification attached to this advert. You will be required to support our manufacturing teams by assembling and checking starting materials prior to manufacture, sanitise starting materials prior to transfer into cleanroom environments and label and inspect finished products. This interesting and varied role will require you prioritise work effectively, work to tight deadlines to achieve targets and to respond to patient and customer needs. You should be able work under pressure, prioritise and organise workloads and be able to work alone or as part of a bigger team.

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Able to learn new skills
  • 4 GCSEs at level 3 (Grade D) or above in English, Maths, and 2 other subjects (or awaiting GCSE exam results)
Desirable criteria
  • Possession or working towards an NVQ level 2 qualification in Pharmacy Service Skills that is approved by the GPhC (or equivalent GPhC pharmacy dispensing qualification)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • To be able to work as park of a team

  • Hospital experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
