Production Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Production Technician to join the Pharmacy team in the Sterile Production Unit, Queens Medical Centre at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH). You will be joining a team of hardworking and dedicated professionals who formulate, prepare and aseptically compound medicines for our most vulnerable patients and external customers.  You will be a Registered Science Technician with the Science Council or GPhC Registered Pharmacy Technician.  If you do not have either of these registrations, training will be provided  for you to complete the Science Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship and Level 3 Diploma in the Principles of Aseptic Pharmaceuticals Processing to become a  Registered Science Manufacturing Technician. The post holder will be paid a spot salary of £24,750 per annum until this qualification and registration is gained.

In addition to the summary below you need to familiarise yourself with the full job description and person specification. This interesting and varied role will require you to process and manufacture a wide range of sterile medicines including Parenteral Nutrition and chemotherapy. The work will be varied and challenging, working to tight deadlines to achieve targets and respond to patient and customer needs. You should be able work under pressure, prioritise and organise workloads and be able to work alone or as part of a bigger team.  We are looking for confident self-motivated individuals with excellent IT, communication, problem solving and decision making skills. You will need to be able to work unsupervised in all aspects of sterile batch production, specialist aseptic dispensing activities, clinical trial material preparation, CIVAS activities, cytotoxic reconstitution services and Neonatal, Paediatric and Adult PN, working in a cleanroom environment to manufacture complex  medicines in isolators and laminar air flow cabinets.

You'll need to be able to work 37.5 hours Mon-Fri, as the service develops, you may be required to work a shift system including 7 day working patterns. The department offers a weekend and bank holiday service which you will be expected to participate in. Qualifications

  • Level 2 Qualification in Pharmacy Support Services (including Pharmacy Manufacturing Modules) or an equivalent Pharmacy Production Qualification or Experience
  • To demonstrate they can be trained, gain new skills and work to set levels of competency
Meini prawf dymunol
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC OR Registered Science Technician (RSciTech) with Science Council
  • Level 3 Diploma in the Principles of Aseptic Pharmaceuticals Processing
  • Aseptic dispensing course attended, e.g. Aseptic Preparation and Dispensing of Medicines (Leeds University)

Experience
