Band 6 Physiotherapist Neuro Rotation

Band 6

Job overview

We have new opportunities to join our fantastic neurological rotation as a Band 6 physiotherapist.  Two full time posts are available: one permanent role and a 9 month fixed term contract/secondment on our in-patient neuro rehabilitation unit.  This rotation covers our neuro specialities across both Queens  Medical Centre, Nottingham City Hospital and also the National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) when it opens in Summer 2025.  The rotation includes: in-patient neuro rehabilitation, neurosciences, acute stroke, stroke rehabilitation,  neuro out-patients and Parkinson's out-patient rehabilitation.

The NRC will be a new, purpose-built 70-bed facility which will be built on the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate near Loughborough, delivering a centre of excellence to improve rehabilitation services in England. It is co-located with the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre and will share some of the world class rehabilitation facilities. Thanks to an academic partnership led by the University of Nottingham and Loughborough University, research and innovation and training and education in rehabilitation will be embedded at the NRC and central to clinical practice.

We are looking for ambitious and dedicated professionals to join this journey to rehabilitation excellence, transforming outcomes for patients.

You will demonstrate highly skilled communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work both autonomously and within the team.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will provide physiotherapy for a complex caseload, working creatively and collaboratively with the MDT, patients and their families, as well as external agencies.  You will assist in ensuring effective delivery of service to patients, supporting staff and actively developing the service.  This will include providing training, staff supervision and management, and actively engaging in service development projects, as well as supporting the wider AHP strategy at NUH.  You will actively participate in student training.

You will receive support and training opportunities for you to develop in this role to reach your full potential. This will include peer and senior support, regular supervision, in-house and external training, as well as varied opportunities to engage in wider learning experiences.

You must have a passion for delivering patient-centred care and a desire to work jointly as a key member of the MDT.

Please familiarise yourself with the full job description and person specification attached to this advert prior to applying.
