Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring Band 6 to join our experienced, highly skilled Vascular Clinical Nurse Practitioner team, on a full time, permanent basis.

Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Must have NMC Registration
- Educated to Degree level in Nursing or Healthcare or working/committed to completing degree
- Committed to completing/working towards completing Non-Medical Prescribers course
- Committed to undertaking additional learning in vascular surgery
Desirable criteria
- MSC in Nursing or similar health specialism or working/committed to completing
- Qualified Non-Medical Prescriber
- Qualified Assessor and Supervisor for student nurses
Experience
Essential criteria
- At least 2 years’ experience in vascular surgery
Desirable criteria
- 5 years vascular experience
Communication and Relationship Skills
Essential criteria
- Basic computer skills
- Experience of communication within a Multi-Disciplinary Team
- Experience of communicating bad news and sensitive information
Desirable criteria
- Advanced Communication Course
Analytical and Judgement Skills
Essential criteria
- Demonstrate an ability to prioritise own workload, recognise and respond appropriately to urgent situations
- Demonstrate an ability to delegate appropriate tasks to other colleagues
- Demonstrate knowledge of current issues relating to the NHS policies
- Experience of clinical decision making and nurse led processes
- Able to contribute to the development of implementation and monitoring of local objectives and action plans
Desirable criteria
- Experience of data collection and analysis
Planning and Organisation Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent time-keeping and time management
- Role holder will be expected to work 90% of the time in the clinical setting
Physical Skills
Essential criteria
- Fit and able to manage a patient workload across Nottinghamshire (QMC, NCH, KMH, Newark)
Other requirements specific to the role (e.g. be able to drive or work shifts
Essential criteria
- Must hold a current full UK driving licence with the ability to work between sites
