As part of our current local transformation work, Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust have received investment to expand our Crisis Resolution Home Treatment (CRHT) teams. We are seeking experienced, dedicated and passionate Crisis Care Practitioners (Band 6) to join our Multi-Disciplinary team from either a Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Social Work background.

The CRHT team provide rapid response and intensive home support for adults who are experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis. We also work with our community teams and partner organisations to provide a range of support options for people experiencing mental health crisis.

The service ‘gate keeps’ all admissions to acute mental health wards, and our crisis house and aims to  provide care in the least restrictive  manner by offering an alternative to hospital admission through intensive home treatment. 

We are seeking experienced Mental Health Practitioners to join our team of Consultant Psychiatrists, Junior Doctors, Non-Medical Prescribers, Nurses, Social Workers and Support Workers providing rapid response for adults who are experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis.

All staff have access to clinical and managerial supervision, career development opportunities, enhancement for any unsocial hours of working and access to relocation expenses for those meeting the criteria for reimbursement of such expenses. They will also have the opportunity to take on additional training and development in any area of the service they are particularly interested in, and all are supported by an excellent mentor and preceptorship service when they first join.

Day to Day Duties:

  • Devolved Management, Leadership and development role
  • Ensuring and supporting the effective delivery of clinical practice by the CRHT team
  • Provide mental health assessments within a variety of settings
  • Triage referrals coming into the service
  • Working collaboratively and in partnership with other statutory, non-statutory and voluntary teams, agencies and organisations
  • Ability to demonstrate clinical expertise in mental illness / health
  • To use interpersonal skills in diffusing potentially emotive situations while undertaking assessments and pathway planning within acute settings
  • To demonstrate high level communication skills
  • Working to a rota shift system covering 24 hours, 7 days a week
  • Travel is expected as an essential part of the role

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Nurse registrants to have completed preceptorship

Knowledge

  • Understanding of responsibilities in relation to the mental health act, mental capacity act, CPA, and safeguarding
  • Competency in meeting the expected performance and data quality targets for the role in a timely manner and an understanding of the importance of this.
