This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy, lively Digital Services within one of the largest Acute Trusts in the country and support our extensive Digital Programme.
Due to the promotion of the existing post holder, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and self motivated Programme Manager to join our team.
This is an incredibly exciting time to join Nottingham University Hospitals Trust as we embark on an ambitious programme to deploy a new Electronic Patient Record for the Trust alongside supporting our Clinical and Corporate Divisions in the delivery of excellent patient care. Digital technology is also a key enabler to driving efficiencies and underpins the delivery of the wider Trust strategy.
NUH is a flexible employer and remote working is now a fully embedded part of our working practices. This role involves management of an experienced team of Project Managers and requires an enthusiastic, diligent and hard working individual to deliver the key objectives.

Digital Services has a vital role in the delivery of NUH’s ambitions to be outstanding in health outcomes and patient and staff experience. Digital Services comprises a multidisciplinary team of professional staff concerned with providing a wide range of services covering all aspects of Applications and Technology.
The overall aim of this role is to implement a clear Digital Services business planning and delivery culture throughout the organisation, ensuring good practice and value for money in the design, procurement, and implementation of all IT developments.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Follow the established Programme Management approach to project delivery that supports organisational change and the realisation of benefits to meet the organisations strategic objectives.
Day to Day Line Management responsibility for a small team of Project Management staff ensuring appropriate support, development and training according to the Trust HR Policies and Processes.
Accountable for co-ordinating and monitoring the Digital Services programme in line with the Trust Programme hub working in an uncertain environment, managing varying and conflicting demands.
To plan and design the programme and proactively monitoring its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
Lead responsibility for the effective management of issues, conflicts, priorities and communications in line with the Trust Programme hub in a reactive environment.
Ensuring that budget is allocated and managed appropriately, responsible for negotiating and securing budget for Digital Services work and meeting financial income targets.
Working positively with the full range of individuals and groups involved in the programme throughout Digital Services and ensuring coordination and communication with Trust colleagues ensuring the delivery is in line with needs of the business.
Ensure that the definition and implementation of the programmes are in line with the Digital Services governance framework, working closely with Information Governance Colleagues to ensure the necessary Data Protection Impact Assessment and Clinical Assessments are carried out to an agreed standard.
To ensure that the delivery of new products or services from the projects meets the requirements and is to the appropriate quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the Programme Plan and programme governance arrangements.
Supporting the Leadership team in ensuring maximum efficiency in the allocation of resources and skills within the project portfolio.

- Prince 2 Project Management Qualification
Desirable criteria
- A recognised professional qualification in management
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working at a senior level in a project/programme management environment
- Experience of managing complex projects to time and on budget
- Has experience leading, managing and developing staff.
Desirable criteria
- Has experience of working in an NHS business/clinical setting.
