This post is eligible for a Golden Hello payment of £2,750 for new starters who are external to the Trust.  This is payable in 3 instalments over a 2 year period.  This payment is only eligible to new starters who do not already hold a contract of employment with the Trust.  This post also includes paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during night, weekends and bank holidays.

We are seeking to recruit Band 5 RMN to join our fantastic multi-disciplinary teams within the hospital to provide assessment, risk management, care and treatment to aid recovery and further the patient journey.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and highly motivated nurse with Mental Health experience to join our teams, in a challenging but rewarding role, to make a difference to the lives of our patients.

As a Band 5 Staff Nurse you will be required to complete Named Nurse duties for a group of patients and implement the nursing process to provide a high standard of individualised patient care to assist patients on their recovery journey in a medium secure setting.

You will be expected to take charge of shifts on a regular basis and oversee the care of all patients and the performance of team members.

You must be able to work a 7-day week, 24-hour shift pattern, including regular night shifts.  You must be an RMN or completing a qualification in Mental Health Nursing and be registered with the NMC.  Experience of working in Mental Health is essential.  Options for flexible working and part-time working are available.

You will be required to complete mandatory training to assist your professional development.

Clinical Management:  To take charge of the ward on a regular basis and have delegated trust in the absence of the Ward Manager to manage the allocated resources to maintain their effectiveness and efficiency, taking appropriate action to meet set standards and targets.  Organise and be responsible for workload in such a way that care is effective as well as efficient.

Clinical Practice:  To work in partnership with the Multi-Disciplinary Team in initiating, implementing and evaluating operational policies and clinical practice against agreed criteria.

Health Promotion:  Assisting patients in maintaining their physical wellbeing, coexisting within Health of the Nation targets.

Quality:  Ensure that the level of service provided in the ward environment is to the agreed Quality Standards.  Actively promote a responsible, caring attitude at all times ensuring that all staff treat patients with dignity and respect.

Risk:  To undertake personal responsibility for ensuring risk assessments are carried out and implemented within the patient’s care programme.
