Job overview
We are looking to recruit a Bank Nursery Assistant to work as and when required on various shifts within the nursery opening hours of 7.30a.m -5.30p.m.
The successful candidate must have a NVQ Level 2 qualification, have the ability to work effectively as part of a team along with good verbal and written communication skills. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure check.
Main duties of the job
To assist the Nursery Nurses to provide high quality care and education for the babies and young children that attend the day nursery.
To assist in the planning, provision, delivery and supervision of well planned, age and developmentally appropriate play opportunities for the babies and young children that attend the day nursery.
To work individually, or as part of a team with the babies and young children attending the day nursery to promote and support each child’s all round development.
To assist in creating a caring and inclusive environment

- Experience of working within a childcare setting
Further Training
Essential criteria
- A commitment to undergo ongoing professional development
Desirable criteria
- Basic Food Hygiene to be gained within 6 months
- Paediatric First Aid to be gained within 6 months
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Working towards NVQ2 in Childcare & Education, or an equivalent qualification or minimum experience (see experience)
Desirable criteria
- A willingness to gain NVQ 3 in Childcare & Education
Knowledge Requirements
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Practice Guidance and the Statutory Framework
- Safe Guarding Children policy and procedure
- Basic Keyboard skills
