Job overview

A opportunity awaits for a talented HCPC registered band 5 Biomedical Scientist to become an integral part of our dynamic haematology and blood transfusion team.

PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST BE HCPC REGISTERED AND HAVE COMPLETED THE IBMS CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCE.

Strong scientific and technical acumen are indispensable, complemented by adeptness in managing the demands of independent work within our team. Candidates with excellent organizational prowess, adept interpersonal skills, and a keen eye for detail will thrive in this role. You will be based within the Pathology Department at King’s Mill Hospital which is housed in state of the art facilities.

Flexible working is a requirement for this post and the department operates a 24/7 shift system including weekend and bank holiday rotas in which you will be expected to participate once trained.

Knowledge Requirements

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of the role of Biomedical Scientist

Qualifications-Academic/ Craft/ Professional

Essential criteria
  • BSc (or MSc) in an accredited Biological / Biomedical Sciences degree.
  • HCPC registered as a Biomedical Scientist.
  • IT skills
Desirable criteria
  • European Computer Driving Licence

Further Training

Essential criteria
  • Participates in Continuing Professional Development.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous laboratory experience

Contractual Requirements

Essential criteria
  • 37.5 hrs per week, working on any shift within the full shift system as rostered
  • Annual attendance at mandatory training.
  • To work on any site as rostered.
