Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a First Line Support Technical Apprentice to join Nottingham Health Informatics Service (NHIS).

The successful candidate will provide a confident, friendly and efficient first line support service to our NHS customers and partners within Nottinghamshire. 

Working within the first line support technical team you will support the team in answering any calls and ensuring that they are logged and escalated on the service desk database.  You will be required to inform customers of NHIS of the status and progress of their call and monitor calls and escalate where required.

You will need to ensure that telephones are answered promptly and professionally.  You will assist with the processing and access controls of the systems and ensuring that only appropriate staff are given access to the systems as per their managers request.

You will be expected to support the administration and issuing of smart cards which allow staff access to ESR and clinical systems.

Nottinghamshire Health Informatics Service (NHIS) are an Information Management & Technology (IM&T) service provider. We supply digital services including Infrastructure Management, Cyber Security, a full range of 1st, 2nd & 3rd Line Technical Support Services, along with Professional and Transformation services including Project Management & Training teams. NHIS are a shared service hosted by Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (SFHFT) supporting Health and Care organisations across the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System (ICS). We work collaboratively with our partner & customer organisations to help deliver their digital & transformational initiatives & strategies, providing expertise and knowledge gained through years of experience. We provide support to over 13,000 users at nearly 800 sites with around 150 internal dedicated staff. Our main aim is to help improve health and care services for citizens by working with organisations to improve the digital experience for the Health and Care workforce and for our local population, ultimately providing a data rich ICS with a focus on the sharing of information and interoperability.

The post holder(s) will contribute to the effective delivery within the Technical Service Business Unit and work alongside the First Line Support Officers and Second Line Engineers to support them in their daily work activities as dictated by the First Line Support Team Leader.
