Job overview

We are seeking a motivated enthusiastic individual to join the Speech and Language Therapy service at Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust. We are a small but growing service and have a strong focus on staff wellbeing. You will be the main point of contact for our inpatient and outpatient services and will provide administrative support to the therapists and Service Lead  to assist in the effective performance of their duties. You will be responsible for  booking outpatients into our videofluoroscopy and Ear, Nose and Throat clinics and supporting our inpatient services across the organisation. 

You will have a large amount of autonomy and as a result you'll need to be comfortable working independently and taking accountability for your own workload.

Main duties of the job

You will need excellent communication skills, have the ability to prioritise your workload where necessary in order to meet deadlines and demonstrate keyboard skills with all Microsoft packages. You must also show understanding of the principles of confidentiality when dealing with patient and staff information. Team work and the ability to work autonomously is also required

Essential criteria
  • Good general education with GCSE English at grade C or above
  • RSA II or ECDL

Contractual Requirements

  • Willingness to work occasional flexible hours as necessary

Knowledge

  • Computer literate, especially using Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and use of PAS and SystmOne
  • Ability to prioritise & work under pressure
  • Delegation skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Ability to work as a team member as well as alone but with access to a more senior colleague
  • Data protection
  • Supervisory skills
