Job overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to develop their leadership skills. We are looking for a highly motivated individual, to work within the Pharmacy Stores Leadership team on a fixed term basis (for 1 year) to work with, assist, and deputise for, the Pharmacy Stores and Distribution Manager in the management of the stores, procurement and ward supply function of pharmacy. This includes management of the Pharmacy Information System (JAC) and the Automated Dispensing System (Pharmacy GPI Robot).
In addition to this, the individual will support our wards supply service including a well-established, unique Ward Stock Medicines Management system which involves a team of assistants supporting the clinical team on the wards.
This post represents an ideal role for someone who is looking to develop their knowledge and skills within medicines procurement and stores, and to gain supervisory and management experience. The postholder will also get an opportunity to support training and development of junior staff members.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations
- IT skills
- Specialist expert knowledge of pharmaceutical technical practice and experience to an equivalent degree level
- Knowledge of Wholesaler dealer’s Licence and Good distribution practice Knowledge of pharmacy ordering systems
- Knowledge of pharmacy distribution systems
Desirable criteria
- In-patient dispensary procedures
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ 3 in Pharmaceutical science or equivalent qualification accepted by General Pharmaceutical Council for registration purposes.
- QCF Assessor award
- Supervisory qualification

Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant post qualification hospital experience
