Job overview
This is a unique opportunity to develop both you clinical and leadership/management skills
the post holder will be line manager for a small team of 6 staff, they will develop them and support them to be the best they can.
they will also have the opportunity to work with the diabetes nurse specialist team and develop the skills to support with inpatient referrals and help the patients in foot clinic improve their diabetes control and health
Main duties of the job
manage a team of 6.
ensure rosters are completed that provide a safe cover for the unit
support the staff development
undertake safety audits and develop action plans
work with the diabetes nurse specialists to support inpatient referrals
support the foot clinic patients to manage and control their diabetes

link with Diabetes nurse specialists to support inpatient referrals

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- registered nurse with current pin number
- evidence of post registration training
Desirable criteria
- currently working as a diabetes nurse specialist
- recent experience of leading a team
leadership
Essential criteria
- demonstrate ability to mange a team
- demonstrate ability to deal with difficult conversations
Desirable criteria
- demonstrate a time when you have educated a patient to learn about a new health diagnosis
- demonstrate a time you have supported a member of you team to achieve their best
change
Essential criteria
- be able to demonstrate how you have instigated a change in your working environment
Desirable criteria
- demonstrate a time when you have supported a patient to change their view of a recommended treatment plan
