Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic professional to join our Oxford Pharmacy Store Finance team in a newly created role to provide value adding financial services. You will be a driven, proactive and approachable professional with the desire to add value to the team and the trust as a whole.

You will work alongside the Senior Accountant & Financial Accountant , and wider team in covering the full suite of financial Services responsibilities 

You will be supported by the Senior Accountant in managing and building strong working relationships with the Oxford Pharmacy Store Finance team and looking after day-to-day  account payable, receivable, credit control and customs process. 

Main duties of the job

To ensure a robust control environment is maintained in accordance with

principles of sound financial governance, Standing Financial Instructions and standard operating procedures, enabling robust financial control and optimal decision making.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

Production of timely, accurate and reliable financial information in line with financial procedures and timetables through completion of own work and liaison with others.

The post holder is responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the OPS Account payable,receivable, credit control & customs process including ensuring are reviewed regularly  and corrective action is taken on a timely basis.

Supporting the Senior Accountant in productions of Year End accounts, including liaison with internal and external auditors.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Accountancy Qualification (AAT or better)
Desirable criteria
  • Part qualified ACCA / CIMA

Job Related Aptitude and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent communication skills including developed negotiation skills
  • Accurate attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, experience of managing projects successfully to completion

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of internal audit, audit systems and controls
  • Proven experience in the public sector, preferably the NHS
  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts, controls and methodologies
  • Advanced IT skills including a detailed knowledge of Excel and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Oracle
Desirable criteria
  • Involvement in enhancements to processes and systems
