NHS 111 Clinical Shift Manager - Northern House

To ensure the 111 service is delivered safely, consistently and to an appropriate standard. The post holder will act as a clinical resource to patients and staff and undertake operational management of the service in addition to the active participation in quality audit and training.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
As a Clinical Shift Manager within South Central Ambulance Service you will be required to provide leadership to your team to ensure the effective provision of the service they provide and to champion change in the organisation. You will ensure that your staff are motivated and express a positive attitude towards the organisation. You will address any issues and concerns that may inhibit your staff from achieving both their personal and organisational goals.
To liaise and communicate clinical information verbally and via technical links, where available, with health economy partners to ensure continuity of care for the caller.
To maintain and ensure clinical safety and maintenance of a high-quality service to those patients who call 111:
✓ To ensure that the communications link and software is operational and if it is
non-operational to inform appropriate line managers and IT services.
✓ To maintain overall responsibility for the shift regards the needs of the team,
e.g. breaks, sudden increase of 111 calls and the possible need of extra
resources.
✓ To monitor the call queue to ensure that the calls are handled in a safe, To work towards service delivery targets, clinical indicators, and national and locally negotiated targets.
To attend and actively participate in regular management meetings and work with
the line manager to improve and / or consistently maintain performance.

South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of emergency, urgent care and non-emergency healthcare services, along with commercial logistics services.

To work as an autonomous practitioner to support other practitioners within the operational environment using knowledge, skills, critical thinking and professional judgement supported by clinical assessment software.
To provide healthcare advice supported by clinical assessment software and facilitate onward to other professionals if required.
To liaise and communicate clinical information verbally and via technical links, where available, with health economy partners to ensure continuity of care for the caller.

- Recognised professional qualification, e.g. registered general nurse (RN1, RNA), ECP or Paramedic
