Job overview

Are you looking for an opportunity to work with children, young people and their families in the community, as part of a new team delivering high quality care, to children aged from 0-19 yrs, in line with the Healthy Child Programme? 

We have a 30 hours, 5 days per week, term time only post based in Chipping Norton covering the north of the county. This role will include travelling between schools to deliver the vision screening and the National Child Measurement Programmes (NCMP) in primary schools as part of a team. You will be able to develop your skills and knowledge to work alongside experienced health care practitioners in a variety of settings.

The role will also include working with school aged children and families to support health related issues under the supervision of trained nurses.  There will also be the opportunities to deliver Personal Social Health Education (PSHE) in educational establishments.

We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible people with good computer skills to work with our digital programmes.

 

Main duties of the job

You will be based at Chipping Norton Hospital and will work with the 0-19 team in that locality. The role involves working in partnership with children, young people, families, primary care, schools and statutory and voluntary services and other partner agencies to facilitate health-enhancing activities and improve health outcomes.

You will deliver the NCMP and vision screening programmes to the primary schools within a specified area, including uploading and inputting data into digital systems.

Delivering and supporting PSHE in primary and secondary schools.

The role will require you to adhere to safeguarding and lone working policies. 

You will work in partnership with other agencies and develop, participate and maintain interagency networks.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • GCSE pass (or equivalent ) in Maths and English.
  • • NVQ2 in business administration or equivalent office/administration experience
Desirable criteria
  • • Previous administrative or health care assistant role.
  • • ECDL European computer driving license

Job related aptitude and skills

Essential criteria
  • • IT skills. Use of Microsoft office packages /data spreadsheets
  • • Good communication skills both oral and written
Desirable criteria
  • • Aware of child protection issues

Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Experience of use of electronic record systems
