Cardiac Rehabilitation Manager

Service Lead for the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team at the John Radcliffe Hospital. This position includes managing a team of Specialist Nurses and Exercise Physiologists, leading this diverse team with an expert level of knowledge and skills in Cardiac Medicine Nursing and Health Promotion. National Audit and working towards meeting national targets and accreditation.

The Post holder will liaise across organisational boundaries with the health care teams in primary care, secondary care and tertiary care to establish systems of care that support the referral and management of patients undergoing cardiac rehabilitation.
The Post holder will provide and facilitate the provision of comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation for patients and their families who have been referred to the cardiac rehabilitation programme
The Post holder will provide clinical leadership by motivating the development of professional skills across the nursing and exercise physiology teams to ensure that the cardiac rehabilitation service meets with national and local requirements

Collaborate with the multi-professional team and cardiac rehabilitation team to develop a shared vision of the service.
Act as a role model and resource in expert clinical evidence based practice.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop effective documentation, pathways, protocols and guidelines for care. Demonstrate a commitment to share expertise and disseminate information.
Lead the development of the team and the service to continuously improve patient care and service delivery
Actively manage the cardiac rehabilitation budget and apply detailed level of understanding of the budgetary constraints.
Use effective change management skills to initiate and implement service and practice development, making the best use of resources to improve practice and health outcomes.
Lead in the selection, interviewing, appraisal and professional development of team members.
Monitor and ensure that all members of the cardiac rehabilitation team maintain their clinical competence.
Participate in implementing national standards and frameworks at a local level

Education

- First level degree in nursing or Exercise Physiology
- Registered Nurse Or Health Care Professional (depending on area of practice)
- Cardiac Experience at Band 6 or above
- Postgraduate level study (HEI level 7) or demonstrable post graduate level working evidenced via a continuous professional development portfolio
