Job overview

The Late Phase Haematology Research data management team is an integral part of research team, responsible for the accurate and complete capture of detailed clinical trial research data from medical records and other sources. These data sets are used to determine whether promising new anti-cancer treatments merit further development and/or analyse the blood cancer risk factors.

We ideally want someone with experience of clinical research, knowledge of haematology and understanding medical terminology, good verbal and written communication skills, time management skill, some experience of working in a healthcare setting, and working with electronic medical records.

Main duties of the job

This post is required to provide specialised data management support to the late phase haematology clinical research team. The post holder will primarily be responsible for completion of case report forms to record clinical research data in a timely manner. You will work with the clinical, non-clinical team and external sponsors to ensure timely query resolution and host monitoring visit amongst other duties. The post holder should have a flexible approach to their duties with the ability to work as part of a team and individually.  

Research is conducted according to international principles of Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP), Department of Health research governance and current regulatory and research ethics requirements.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will work closely with the research nurses, clinical teams, and designated junior doctors/SPR’s and consultants, continually striving to improve quality of care and clinical outcomes.

  • Educated to A-level or equivalent standard, or extensive relevant work experience
  • Experience using electronic data capture systems
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
