This is an exciting opportunity to become a Band 7 on the Churchill Intensive Care Unit (CICU). This band 7 position will have a strong focus on Cancer and Transplant pathways and also as a Team lead within critical Care.  

 

Main duties of the job

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This position is based at the Churchill Hospital based in Headington, Oxford. It is roughly three miles from the city centre, with exceptional public transport to and from the hospital as well as onsite parking. If you already live locally the hospital is easily commutable from towns such as Bicester, Didcot, Abingdon and Wantage If you live further afield and you are considering relocating for this position, the recruitment team will be happy to assist you with help and advice on relocating. In addition, we actively welcome applications from Nurses who are overseas. Oxford is well known for its university but aside from being drenched in academic history, its city centre has recently undergone redevelopment including a new shopping centre and a selection of new bars and restaurant. It can confidently claim to have something for everyone!

  • Registered nurse (part 1, 8, 12 or 15 of register depending on area of practice)
  • Educated to Masters level, or willing to undertake.
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Intensive Care practice, ENB 100 Course or Diploma in Critical Care Nursing or other relevant critical care qualification.
  • Evidence to support a programme of personal professional development.
  • Completion of a leadership and management development programme/CC3N STEP 4 competencies.
