Job overview
We are looking for 2 experienced, enthusiastic, compassionate, and highly motivated Team Leader Therapeutic Radiographers join our friendly and welcoming professional team at the OUH Radiotherapy Centre @ Milton Keynes, a satellite of the Oxford Cancer Centre.
This purpose-built satellite in Milton Keynes opens in October 2024 housing a Varian TrueBeam linac with 6DoF couch, RGSC & IDENTIFY as well as a GoSim Radiotherapy CT scanner, all networked by ARIA with the Centre in Oxford. This satellite is an extension and expansion of the radiotherapy service at the Oxford Cancer Centre & existing satellite centre in Swindon. It has its own clinic rooms, treatment planning suite, meeting rooms and good staff facilities in the satellite itself. It is located on the Milton Keynes University Hospital site where there is already a comprehensive oncology service.
Patients are at the heart of what we do, and we are looking for Therapeutic Radiographers who can deliver excellent care with compassion and respect.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to play a key role in the operational and clinical leadership of the service within OUH Radiotherapy Centre @ Milton Keynes and on occasion at the Oxford Cancer Centre if required. They would be expected to ensure the provision of a high quality and patient-focussed service and to provide support to radiographers at all levels, assistants and students across both pre-treatment & treatment areas.
The post holder will work as a team lead in both pre-treatment and treatment providing leadership for staff and quality care for patients within the OUH Radiotherapy Centre @ Milton Keynes.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • HCPC registration
- • BSc Radiotherapy
Desirable criteria
- • Educated to Master (radiotherapy) level or equivalent knowledge in area related to role
Experience
Essential criteria
- Participation in radiotherapy development work
- Previous NHS experience in Radiotherapy
- Relevant Band 6 Therapeutic Radiographer experience
- Team management experience
Desirable criteria
- Participation in the implementation of a change in practice/new equipment
- Experience using Varian/Aria equipment
- Experience of using Eclipse & Somavision planning systems
- Participation in research
Skills, Knowledge and Abilitie
Essential criteria
- • Leadership skills
- • Knowledge and experience of advanced and complex treatment techniques
- • Participation in the implementation of new equipment or technology.
- • Knowledge of IR(ME)R 2017 and responsibilities relating to own professional practice
Desirable criteria
- • Good image interpretation skills
- • Awareness of current trends in radiotherapy
- • Attendance of relevant lectures/workshops/study days
- • Leadership Course attendance
