An exciting opportunity exists to join The Oxfordshire Community Dental Service as a Dental Receptionist!

We are a Countywide Dental Service providing a range of Special Care Dental treatment tailored to meet the individual needs of the patient whilst ensuring access.

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced, motivated Receptionist with excellent front of house and communication skills to work within our East Oxford Dental Clinic. The clinic provides specialist, emergency and routine dental treatment for patients within priority groups.

This role is part time 22.5 hours per week

Main duties of the job

The receptionist will deal efficiently and sympathetically with patients, face to face and over the phone, be computer literate and able to work in a modern, fully computerised clinic. Experience in word processing, spreadsheets and e-mails are necessary, along with the ability to audio type.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Previous experience in a dental environment would be advantageous, but not essential as full training will be given. You will also be required to take payments from patients and bank monies appropriately. At times there will be need for you to provide cover at our other clinics, therefore the ability to travel between sites is required.

Essential criteria
  • Literacy and Numeracy GCSEs or equivalent
  • Confident with Microsoft Office 365

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of keyboard and willingness to learn dental specific computerised systems
  • Experience in general office work
  • Experience of management of appointments and accurate handling of cash, receipts and banking procedures
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with dental IT system/reception work
