Job overview
Are you a compassionate, empathetic, and strategic leader, looking to make your first leap into senior management?
We, in the Learning Disabilities Service, are looking for a new Service Manager to lead our teams in giving a voice to the voiceless.
In this role, the smallest of changes can make the biggest difference to some of the most marginalised people in our society, so it’s important that you feel passionate about ensuring good outcomes.
With previous experience within the Healthcare Service, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that high quality care is delivered, so we’ll not only need you to inspire, but also to be emotionally aware in order to get the best out of the people around you and develop as a service.
This may be through upskilling, problem solving with other Clinical Leads and Managers, providing regular supervision, supporting other members of staff with a focus on development and improvement or through investigating complaints and grievances.
We’re a small directorate, with a highly skilled team who carry out specialist and complex work; we’re supportive, inclusive and there’s always someone around for support. No two days are ever the same, so, if you’re looking for an opportunity to step up into senior leadership and develop your skills, with plenty of variety, then we are the team for you!
Main duties of the job
In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading the safe and efficient running of the Learning Disability Services, with a focus on staffing (e.g. infrastructure, training and development need), finance and performance.
Working closely with the Service Director and Clinical Leads, as well as external partners, you’ll be strategic in your thinking and be able to inspire others to join your vision to help meet service user need – and deliver sustainably.
The main responsibilities can be broken down in strategy, policy and delivery across the following areas:
- Quality
- Workforce
- Finance
- Performance
- Strategic change
- Stakeholder engagement/partnership
