We are a responsive and innovative Foundation Trust that places our values of Caring, Safe and Excellent at the heart of everything we do. We take great pride in our staff and believe that investing in you is key to us achieving our vision of outstanding care delivered by outstanding people.

We actively support anti-racism, equality, diversity, and inclusion so, if you’re excited about this job opportunity and you meet our Trust values, but feel unsure about applying, then please get in touch and we will be happy to have a conversation with you.

We are also committed to increasing diversity in the workforce, that is why we actively encourage applications from those groups of people who are currently under-represented, which include amongst others: people with disabilities; men from all socio-economic backgrounds; people from diverse ethnic backgrounds; and people from the LGBTQIA+ community.

Good luck and we hope to hear from you.

Job overview

We are seeking a Trial Coordinator to join the Oxford Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma research group, based in Paradise Square, Oxford.

You'll be working on an exciting multi-site randomised control trial (RCT) led by Professor Anke Ehlers at the University of Oxford in collaboration with Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust to consider how internet cognitive therapies for social anxiety disorder (SAD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) compare with current NHS psychological treatment as usual (TAU) when delivered by NHS staff to patients with comparable presentations.

The role will involve supporting Professor Anke Ehlers and the research team by assisting in the trial preparation, planning and delivery of the trial, organising therapist training, data collection, preparation and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data on a range of variables so that the research objectives are met.

If you have working knowledge of RCT research methodologies, NHS R&D procedures and a strong background in statistical analysis then we'd love to hear from you!

Main duties of the job

  • Assist in the collection of data, including liaising with trial therapists service users, and trial sites
  • Assist with ethics application, patient recruitment, consent and data collection at the sites
  • Contribute to the preparation and analysis of quantitative data, including inputting data, dataset cleaning and management and quantitative data analysis and critical evaluation and interpretation under the supervision of the PI.
  • Present regular progress reports on the project to the research team.
  • Assist with write up results of work and contribute to the production of research reports and publications.
  • Carry out routine administrative duties as required, e.g. arranging research team meetings.
  • Carry out any other duties designated by PI manager, and which fall within the general ambit of the post.
