This role is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office which is at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

The starting salary for this role is £28,407. This is the salary that will apply to candidates with 2 years experience or less. If you have 2-4 years experience then the salary is £30,639, or for 4+ years it is £34,581.

Please note that these are national payscales and are not negotiable.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has a vacancy for a full time Management Accountant at the John Radcliffe Hospital. This is a great opportunity if you are looking to develop your accountancy career within the NHS.

The  Neurosciences, Orthopaedics, Trauma, Specialist Surgery, Children's and Neonates Divisional finance team currently work a hybrid model with home and office working base at the John Radcliffe and other trust sites as required.  

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

The post holder will provide a professional, responsive and high profile financial management service to the Foundation Trust and be part of the Neurosciences, Orthopaedics, Trauma, Specialist Surgery, Children's and Neonates (NOTSSCaN) Divisional finance team responsible for the production of monthly management accounts. They will also provide support in the production and processing of transactions through the general ledger, transaction analysis and variance analysis to budget.

The post holder must be working towards a professional level accountancy qualification and ideally, but not essential, have previous experience of working in the NHS. The post holder will also have a working knowledge of finance systems, specifically general ledger, sales ledger, Excel and other Microsoft packages and have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and be able to work flexibly in their approach in the finance team.

  • Good IT skills, a working knowledge of spread sheets etc.
  • Experience of a range of accounting duties at this or similar organisations unless compensated for by a degree incorporating finance modules or by AAT/CCAB qualification

  • Familiar with the principles of book-keeping

Education / Qualifications

  • Studying a professional accountancy qualification. CIMA, ACCA, AAT, CIPFA with evidence of passes at the minimum of the foundation levels, or a degree incorporating finance modules. Alternatively have relevant experience from within a financial environment.
  • Good general education, including Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)
