Hello, I am Dina, and I work in the Radiopharmacy team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our small, dedicated team as a Radiopharmacy Technician.

You will be responsible for carrying out technical duties required for provision of radiopharmaceuticals to the Trust.
You will provide core technical support to radiopharmacy team. Radiopharmacy holds a Specials manufacturing license to supply diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals to several clinical areas within the Trust. The post holder will undertake manufacturing of radiopharmaceuticals, QC of radiopharmaceuticals, packing for transport, aseptic cleaning of premises and equipment, waste management, environmental monitoring, and accurate record keeping as per GMP.
This work has a direct impact on patient imaging and therapeutic procedures and requires the post holder to liaise with a wide range of staff in Nuclear Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, Medical Physics and with external equipment/product manufacturers and other organisations.
This is a progressive linked post moving from Band 4 to Band 5 on completion of initial training and fulfilment of competencies. Previous experience within a Nuclear Medicine or Pharmacy environment would be advantageous but not essential as full in-house training will be provided.

The key duties include:
- aseptic manufacture and dispense of radiopharmaceuticals
- radiopharmaceutical quality control
- packing and dispatch of radiopharmaceuticals
- aseptic cleaning and disinfection of premises and equipment
- radiopharmacy environmental monitoring (microbial and radiation)
- ordering, receipt of goods and stock control
- preparation for production session and aseptic transfer decontamination
- maintaining the pharmaceutical clean room environment
- handle and dispose of radioactive waste
- writing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures
- Undertake accurate record keeping as described in the Pharmaceutical Quality System
All tasks will be performed within strict radiation protection regulations and EU GMP.

- Degree in relevant area, such as Radioharmacy, Chemistry, Biology, Physics.
- or NVQ level 3
- or BTEC in pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent

- Leeds University course :Aseptic preparation and dispensing of medicines
- Supervision / management qualification
Experience

- Experience of working in a GMP environment.
- Experience of working in a Pharmaceutical Clean Room
- Practical experience of operations in hot laboratory, or GMP facility, or aseptic pharmaceutical manufacturing or pharmaceutical QC laboratory or PET or equivalent.
- Customer services experience in acute or 'just in time' services.
- Safe and competent handling of complex pharmaceutical equipment, consumables and medicines used in the dispensing process

- Experience of working in a MHRA Licenced Manufacturing Unit.
- One year operational experience of working in radiopharmacy and Knowledge of associated regulations and restrictions
- Training or supervising experience.
Personal Skills

- Knowledge of EU good manufacturing practice.
- Ability to perform complex preparation protocols/tasks accurately and timely to defined local procedures.
- Ability to visually examine and discriminate radiopharmaceutical products during inspection.
- Ability to handle and manipulate high activity radiopharmaceuticals using personal protective equipment
- Able to stand or sit in a confined space whilst preparing radiopharmaceuticals

- Knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals and radionuclide production and safety issues
- Understanding of the legislation involved with the manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals
- Able to take responsibility for self-development and CPD.
