Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in a dynamic, caring community Therapy Team. We are welcoming applications from Occupational Therapists to join the West Community Therapy Service based in Witney.

Working within the planned and preventative pathway whilst helping the  unplanned pathway, you will be able to make a real  difference to the patients of West Oxfordshire. 

The team is made up of Occupational Therapists, Mental Health OT, Physiotherapists, Assistant  Practitioners, Rehab Assistants and Clinical Lead. 

Main duties of the job

As an Occupational Therapist, you will work within a rehabilitation team managing a caseload of clients providing a high quality, appropriate, cost effective and efficient intensive rehabilitation service for adult patients in Oxfordshire. 

You will deliver a safe and effective rehabilitative patient care and discharge, working in partnership with colleagues in the multidisciplinary team within the community and acute sectors, supporting the efficient use of resources across the whole system delegating duties as appropriate.

We encourage taking learning and development opportunities. As a band 6 there is opportunity for you to  take the MSc  frailty module offered by the trust to  help support your clinical role.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Occupational Therapy or equivalent
  • HCPC registration

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Good knowledge and skills in elderly care/rehabilitation and have specific clinical expertise in elderly care and rehabilitation
  • Understanding and experience of Risk Management
  • Experience and knowledge of gold standard care pathways for stroke survivors
Desirable criteria
  • Previous NHS or UK Adult social Services

Job related aptitude and skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • IT literate
  • Good organisational skills
  • Able to travel to undertake work and have the capacity to carry equipment relative to your post
