We are looking to recruit Hotel Services Domestic Assistants across Powys. Our team of Domestic Assistants play a crucial part in the cleaning and domestic support side of the Hospital, assisting our Clinical teams by providing a clean and safe working environment for our Patients, Staff and Visitors. You will support the local delivery of hotel services domestic and associated facilities activities, ensuring that they are delivered at the levels agreed and that they meet with full compliance with all appropriate legislation and local policies and procedures. You will need to be self-motivated, have a flexible approach to work, be able to work as part of a team and have the ability to work on your own initiative. Previous experience is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be given. Training/qualification
Essential criteria
- Literacy and Numeracy L1 or equivalent
- Knowledge gained on corporate and local induction, completion of internal training programme within 6/8 weeks, to include: Appropriate Health and Safety Training. Fire Training. Moving and handling skills. Cleanliness Champion training. Knowledge of policies and procedures. Knowledge of the site. Basic food hygiene. Successful completion of agreed minimum training within the first 12 months of employment
Desirable criteria
- Mandatory training
- To have gained a Level 2 NVQ in cleaning services or equivalent or are willing to participate in further training to achieve it.
- To have gained a Level 2 in numeracy and literacy or equivalent or are willing to participate in further training to achieve it.
- To have gained or have previously received food safety awareness training.
Experience
Essential criteria
- To have gained sufficient experience in the cleaning industry to be able to demonstrate an understanding of safe working practices and techniques that would meet the requirements within this role.

- To be able to perform independently or as part of a team whilst demonstrating the values and behaviours expected of the organisation.
- To be able to follow instructions and organise own work to meet the team objectives, adapting work to meet any changing priorities which may need to meet tight timeframes.

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
