We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and adaptable individual to provide leadership and operational management to ensure an efficient and effective administration service supporting the delivery of the Vaccination programme in Powys.

The role supports the service in driving efficient, effective services, as well as value for money in planning and service delivery and is responsible for;

• Building a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong, efficient service delivery.

• Provide a range of activities and lead on project managing the Vaccination Administration Teams across Powys. This will include working independently and with colleagues, from both inside and outside of the Health Board, to design and develop Programme content, as well as providing targeted improvement support.

• Provide On-Call duty in line with the opening hours of the Vaccination service.

• Line management of staff to include PADR, performance issues, recruitment, and grievance.

Main duties of the job

Review and analysis of services, making decisions as to the potential benefit from service improvement.

Development, innovation, and continuous improvement within existing service delivery.

Effective management of continuous improvement which will enhance the existing service provision through the development of policies, processes and procedures aimed at delivering innovation, culture change and the development of best practice.

Recognise quality and safety, and performance issues within the various services and identify areas for improvement.

Work closely with colleagues to ensure that processes are satisfying the correct requirements.

Provision of a range of inputs and development workshops to existing teams based on internal and external best practice benchmarking information in partnership with senior operational colleagues.

Keeping up to date with, and contributing to the development of, Health Board strategies in partnership with operational colleagues.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Master’s Degree level qualification or demonstrable equivalent level of work experience
  • Management experience, preferably within an NHS environment, including management of projects / programmes within quality, time and financial parameters
  • Evidence of continuous professional development by means of formal courses and/or workshops, study days etc
  • IQT Bronze Award
  • Experience of operating in a politically sensitive environment
  • Experience of undertaking service audits and analysing results against the relevant governance and Quality and Safety arrangements
  • Experience of designing and implementing effective service improvement programmes
  • Experience of identifying and reporting risks
  • Appreciation of the relationship between risk management, audit and service improvement and experience of navigating this relationship to improve a service
  • Highly developed organisational skills

  • IQT Silver Award
  • Project Management qualification such as Prince2 or equivalent

  • Must have-an-understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement
