Are you an experienced nurse with a passion for digital innovation? Do you want to join a dynamic team that is transforming the way healthcare is delivered? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the role of senior nurse for digital systems.

Following Welsh Government investment we are looking for a Senior Nurse to lead the implementation of an electronic prescribing and administration (ePMA) system for Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB) Community Hospitals. You will be supported by a Senior Clinician and will be integrated into the wider team and will be working alongside other roles of Digital, Pharmacy, and Project Management Teams to support the PTHB ePMA project and other healthcare innovations.

You will also be working with colleagues across Wales and will represent PTHB at national meetings and will be the clinical lead for other digital projects in the Health Board.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working within a hospital setting and with digital systems or on digital projects. You will need excellent communication and organisational skills and an ability to build relationships to enable significant changes.

Main duties of the job

The Health Board is implementing an Electronic Prescribing and Medicines.  Administration system (EPMA) alongside other workstreams. The post holder will have a key role in a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and wider professionals, to ensure the successful implementation and safe utilisation of the Powys Teaching Health Board EPMA system.

Use specialist knowledge and experience, alongside digital skills, to test, develop and configure systems. Provide advice to Ward Managers, Ward staff, and other clinical staff, assisting in developing effective and efficient workflows for the project implementation and roll-out of the EPMA system across the Health Board.

A key element will be to facilitate and participate in the delivery of specialist training to Registered Nurses, Consultants, Doctors, Pharmacy, Therapy staff and other specialties who will interact with the EPMA system across the Health Board. Demonstrate the system, promote the benefits of EPMA and work with the EMPA team to ensure that the system is implemented in a safe and timely manner.  Support the EPMA team to undertake a review of policies and Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring that these are written and ratified before implementation of the EPMA system. The role will include identification of risks, and the production of appropriate mitigation plans.
