Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Community Therapy Team based at Llandrindod Wells  Hospital, Mid Powys. We are looking for a part time Band 4 Assistant Therapy Practitioner to join our established, friendly and experienced team.

The role will require a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual who has the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be able to show initiative, have good communication and organisational skills, being able to prioritise a caseload in a busy community setting.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as a member of the Therapies Team under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapy and/or Physiotherapy Team Leader to ensure that an efficient and effective rehabilitation service is delivered to Powys residents.

The post holder will assess, implement, treat and progress patients in accordance with agreed protocols and treatment regime under the supervision of the qualified therapist. This will include working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency arena, alongside other members of the therapy and community teams. Prevent hospital admission by working to the therapy goals identified by the patient and qualified therapist.

The post holder will acknowledge their limitations and actively seek advice as necessary to deliver a client centred rehabilitation programme. Supervision and support of junior staff will be part of the role.

  • Level 4 NVQ / A-levels / BTEC in a health care associated certificate/ Diploma in Occupational Therapy Support / Physiotherapy Rehabilitation or Level 3 NVQ / A-Levels / BTEC in a health care associated certificate / Diploma in Occupational Therapy Support / Physiotherapy Rehabilitation/ For internal candidates evidence of Agored Cymru
  • Good understanding of theoretical concepts of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy
  • Numeracy and literacy skills
