Are you looking for an exciting and unique experience? An opportunity has arisen with Powys Teaching Health Board for a Pharmacy assistant to join our Community Services Pharmacy Team. We are looking for someone who is motivated and passionate about patient care and wants to improve patient services to join us to work within our pharmacy team, supporting our community and community hospitals.
You will be supported by experienced Medicines Management Team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, MM nurses, pharmacy assistants and administration staff. You will be a highly valued member of the team and we will provide ongoing personal development and training opportunities. All duties will be supervised by qualified staff. The opportunity to achieve NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualification and training will be given to the post holder and is essential for the role.
The post offers a permanent role at 30 hours per week There is flexibility available regarding how many days these hours are worked over.
Main duties of the job
To perform a variety of tasks to support the pharmacy teams within the Health Board working within Standard Operating Procedures.
Participate in rota for general stores and distribution activities to include ward deliveries, stock management and receipt/storage of goods.
Support the administration function of the Medicines Management team as and when needed.
Travel between sites in Powys will be necessary on occasion.

Qualifications and / or Knowledge
Essential criteria
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English Grade C or above
- A commitment to work towards NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services to attain within 1 year of employment

- Driver’s license
