Job overview
We are looking for an experienced, innovative Community Dietitian to join our expanding team of Dietitians, delivering an integrated acute and community service across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.
You will have the opportunity to develop your clinical and management skills within the Dietetic Service utilising advances in technology to deliver dietetic help for patients across the county,
Along with HCPC registration, the successful applicant will ideally have a wide range of experience and an interest in developing management skills

Main duties of the job
To assess, diagnose/interpret and manage own specialist caseload of complex patients as autonomous practitioner in accordance with Professional Code of Conduct and Health and Care Professions Council Regulations.
To have developed, through experience and postgraduate training, the specialist knowledge and clinical skills required for the post.
The post holder will work in closely with colleagues both within the acute setting and community to deliver a cohesive service that is user led ensuring a consistently high standard of patient care, optimal patient flow and safe timely discharge.
To work closely with team managers and senior therapists to ensure a robust structure of training, supervision and appraisal is delivered to all members within the team.
To work closely with team co-managers and senior therapists to ensure the delivery of an efficient operational service.
To act as a source of Specialist advice and help within the Therapy Centre and across the Trust and the wider health economy.
To have highly effective communication skills and demonstrate these on a continual basis with patients, carers, colleagues and the wider Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT).
The post holder will play an integral part in trainee training within the profession. We are fully committed to invest in your training and development and have well established CPD, clinical supervision and leadership development opportunities.

Essential criteria
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Evidence of delegating appropriate work to Assistant Practitioners
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of effective prioritisation skills
- Experience of being involved in audits to improve clinical practice
Education
Essential criteria
- Has degree in Dietetics or equivalent and HCPC registration
Work Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of extensive experience in relevant clinical area
- Evidence of specialist clinical training in relevant area
- Evidence of appropriate clinical reasoning skills
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with HEF caseload
- Evidence of teaching learners / junior staff and colleagues using presentation skills
- Evidence of up to date CPD activity

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
