Therapy Support Worker

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 2 Therapy Support Worker to join our Stroke, Rehabilitation and Early Supported Discharge Team at The Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust.

The role is based at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

The roles forms part of a team of generic Therapy Support Workers who currently work between the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy and the Speech and Language Therapy team.  The role includes delivering therapy to patients, supporting the qualified therapists as well as administration and housekeeping tasks.

The post holder needs to be flexible, have good time management skills, confident IT skills, and work well in a team as well as independently.

We are delighted to be able to offer patients who have had a stroke the opportunity of assessment and treatment over the weekend and Bank Holidays and this post holder would be expected to participate in the 7-day working rota for this.

Our acute stroke service is based at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. Services include hyper acute and acute stroke care wards.

The team have a robust supervision structure and a strong drive for personal and professional development across all bands and roles facilitating events within the team, department, Trust and externally to enable the best possible care is delivered to patients.

  • Knowledge of the role of a therapy assistant and ability to work within the boundaries of the role

Education

  • Evidence of knowledge and skills sufficient to demonstrate the ability and willingness to study at NVQ level 2

Work Experience
