Job overview

An Exciting opportunity has arisen for a team leader to head up our fantastic Oncology/ Haematology Research team. The post holder will also lead other research teams where cross cover is required or service needs change. 

The position is a 12 month secondment, and you will need support from your current employer.  Fixed term contracts will also be considered.

We are looking for someone with extensive research experience in Oncology, Haematology, Radiotherapy and/or other specialities at band 6 or above. The successful applicant will have excellent communication and leadership skills and be able to motivate the team to deliver a wide variety of research studies including commercial, interventional and non-interventional.  

It is a great position within a successful and motivated team delivering high quality research to our patient population.

Main duties of the job

  • Manage or co-ordinate research projects at across the department
  • Provide expertise and guidance on research studies across the trust and in the wider health community; disseminate knowledge & promote research culture.
  • Hold specialist caseload and support changes to clinical practice and service using specialist expertise,
  • Participate in the education and training of own and other health professionals in clinical research and own area of specialism.
  • Accountable for own professional action working within codes of practice, guidelines and current legislation.

Essential criteria
  • MC Level One Registration or relevant Health Professional qualification
  • Graduate level qualification in relevant discipline, be working towards one or be prepared to study at this level
  • Evidence of continuous personal, professional, and academic development
  • Current Clinical Trial GCP training
  • Informed consent training

Skills and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience within clinical research
  • Experience of collaborating with other agencies
  • Knowledge and experience of handling complex relationships

  • Competent in the use of hospital data bases and Microsoft Office
