We are committed to developing and deploying an Electronic Patient Record (EPR) for Acute Hospital Alliance ( Royal United Hospital - Bath, Great Western Hospital , Swindon and Salisbury NHS Trust, and are excited to announce secondment or fixed term contract opportunities to join the programme as an EPR Workstream Lead.
We are looking for a team of people with either AHA - specific organisational knowledge and experience, or people with previous experience of implementing an EPR. Most important is your enthusiasm for digital, and you will receive the technical training required to be successful in your role. A team with a balance of EPR implementation experience and AHA(GWH, SFT and RUH) knowledge is the key to the programme's success.
We welcome applications from those who would like to join the programme team full time as well as those who would like to combine a fractional role in the team with work in their existing area. All internal staff interested in applying should gain agreement from their line manager first. Roles are available across AHA (GWH, SFT and RUH). Successful applicant (GWH, SFT and RUH will be able to remain within their home trust.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced Clinician/Nurse or senior Operational Manager to lead centrally on this complicated workstream. Getting the best out of the technology to improve and standardise processes across the 3 Trusts, you would drive and support this transformational element of the EPR.
Though the RUH staff are familiar with the Millennium theatre module none of the staff across the 3 Trusts have experience of using the Anaesthetic module, and how it can impact, improve and streamline the processes.

- Significant experience of working in within the acute hospital environment, with clear experience within the allocated work stream
- Track record of internal stakeholder engagement
- Supervisory experience
- Experience of project management
Desirable criteria
- Experience of co-ordinating software testing
- A good understanding of the NHS, in particular the NHS modernisation agenda and a comprehensive knowledge of NHS system procedures and information flows.
- Knowledge of the use of information and information systems used in the NHS
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Excellent MS Office skills, especially proficiency with MS Excel
- Ability to undertake advanced keyboard use, including data input and system configuration
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills for a range of audiences, including stakeholder at all levels of the organisation
- Ability to provide sound judgement and give professional advice and support
- Demonstrable experience of understanding and acting upon highly complex information
Desirable criteria
- Process mapping and/or business analysis skill
- Understanding of change and management theory and process
