We are currently seeking a Band 5 nurse to join our department for 22 hours each week. This could be over 7 days but is likely to be over 3 -4 days

Our clinics are Monday-Friday, with the possibility of occasional weekend working and rotating to the Gynaecology ward.

We are a forward-thinking department and actively encourage ongoing staff development. Previous Band 5 nurses have developed into specialist nurse roles whilst working with us such as a nurse Colposcopist, early pregnancy nurse and Oncology Nurse specialist.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be appointed to or come with specific skills and knowledge of caring for women attending General Gynaecology clinics, Gynaecology oncology clinics, Colposcopy treatment clinic, and procedures such as Hysteroscopy, Bulkamid and Endometrial Ablation. They would be involved in caring for women in the Early pregnancy and Gynaecology Emergency clinics that run daily.

We have a small Day Surgery Unit where women attend for day case surgery under general anaesthesia, following a miscarriage or attending for a termination of pregnancy. The applicant will be expected to care for these women as well.

The successful applicant will be expected to become competent in running /assisting in all aspects of the department clinics, diagnostic treatments and procedures. Having good interpersonal skills is key.

The department also has specialist Nurse Led clinics, such as Medical Gynae , Colposcopy and Early Pregnancy Assessment clinics.

If you enjoy looking after women and are interested or have knowledge and experience in Gynaecology nursing this is too good an opportunity to miss. You will need to be flexible with regard to working hours/days as it is not possible to offer fixed days.

We would encourage informal visits. Please come and have a look around. please refer to the attached job description for details
