Therapeutic Radiographer
Band 5
Job overview
The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust is undergoing an impressive modernisation program with plans that include the radiotherapy department within the new Dyson Cancer Centre.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking and flexible Therapeutic Radiographer. Good technical and interpersonal skills are essential.
You will have treatment and pre-treatment experience with interests in imaging, treatment technology, new radiotherapy techniques and service improvement. You will make a difference by developing clinical, technical and leadership skills alongside our dedicated, patient-focussed, friendly team of 23 WTE Radiographers who are providing a high-quality service. We are delighted to support long term career progression, with many radiographers undertaking further training to support enhanced and advanced practice
Our radiotherapy facilities include 2 new Varian Truebeam linear accelerators delivering complex IMRT and IGRT, with transit dosimetry. This Spring we will be offering Surface Guided Radiotherapy treatments and will be transitioning to tattoo-less treatments for our patients. We are introducing the Omniboard immobilisation system across our fleet. The department has an Xstrahl superficial machine which offers a network service for skin lesions and a Canon CT scanner with virtual simulation. The pretreatment and treatment bunkers benefit from Living Sky environments to support the wellbeing of our staff and patients.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 Therapeutic Radiographer you will be a core member of the radiography team rotating between pretreatment and treatment areas. You will also be key in supporting patients’ health and wellbeing needs.
You’ll work under the guidance of the senior radiographers in your team.
Our department has core operating hours weekdays 07:45 – 15:45, with hours flexing depending on service needs. You will be required to work a mixture of early, day and late shifts and be part of the bank holiday rota.
We have two full time opportunities available, one permanent and one fixed term for 6 months.
