Main duties of the job

This position is for 37.5 hours per week covering Monday to Friday. We can be flexible with the working times over the 4 days.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and committed Housekeeper to join our team in the Bath Urology Unit.

This is an exciting role in which you will work closely with the nursing staff to ensure a safe, clean and organised clinical department.

You will take responsibility for daily point of care testing, equipment cleaning and setting up clinical rooms/areas for the morning and the afternoon. You will ensure the department has adequate stock and that this is rotated to minimise waste working with the Supplies Department. In addition you will be responsible for ordering stock of consumable items on Unit 4 and ensuring the appropriate stock is where it needs to be. You will assist with patient lunches and providing hot and cold drinks when necessary.

You will also assist the team in continuous quality improvement work by undertaking audits in the department (daily, weekly, monthly audits including equipment cleaning). You will need excellent communication skills and good IT skills as you will also need to use Millennium and Shire for logging of repairs. You will need to be self- motivated as well as a good team player.
