Maternity Administrator

Job overview

Are you an experienced Administrator with an interest in Maternity services, with a desire to support a multidisciplinary team working within our Maternity Hub at Trowbridge or Paulton.  ?  Are you also ready to provide support to people who access our maternity services?  If the answer is yes, we’d love you to be a part of our team.

Main duties of the job

       Providing administrative support to the Maternity hubs and Specialist midwives; duties including, word processing, letter composition, typing, filing, photocopying, entering patient details into Millennium, data entry using databases/spreadsheets to capture information, co-ordinate the unit diary, tracking maternity records via emails and phone calls, arrange and book meetings and producing patient wristbands as directed.

        Being the first point of contact for callers which can include women and their families, members of the public, clinical staff, GPs and health visitors, dealing with enquiries, taking accurate telephone messages and booking appointments/referrals as required.

        Accurate inputting of women’s data at initial contact and to maintain appointment schedules efficiently on Millennium.

      Liaise with other multi-disciplinary teams i.e. Children’s Centres and Child Health Department, making appointments where necessary.

    Support the Midwifery team in the arrangement as directed of antenatal classes within the unit.       Be responsible for handling telephone and face-to-face enquiries, concerns or comments whilst mindful of confidentiality issues.
